ETHNIC GROUPS

An ethnic group, also known as an ethnicity, is a collection of individuals who identify as one another based on characteristics that set them apart from other groups. These characteristics may include shared traditions, ancestry, language, history, society, culture, nation, or manners of treatment in their local community. Ethnicity is distinct from the related idea of races, while the terms are occasionally used synonymously, especially in contexts of ethnic nationalism.
